Day 3 Contest

gwp

Let’s see what Mary has for us today… hmm… what is my all time favorite book??? I love Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, but I also love to reread all of the Karen Chance books and the Patricia Briggs books… I don’t know that I can pick just one… I start from the beginning of Shelly Laurenston/G.A. Aiken (same person-different series)’s books over and over… I just love the humor and romance…

If I have to pick just one it had to be one of the books form Patricia Briggs Alpha and Omega series… Let’s go with Dead Heat

511kW457fpL__SX329_BO1,204,203,200_

But dang it… i love her Mercy Thompson Series as well….. okay… let’s just go with this months favorite author, because my fav changes like a pregnant person’s cravings… and I can’t just mention my Alpha and Omega fav… it would be soooo unfair… I’m already leaving off a half dozen authors, and dozens of favorite books… and though Patricia Briggs keeps her lovin’ scenes behind closed doors, my smut obsessed mind just loves her… πŸ˜› and here is my Mercy Thompson Pick… Night Broken

51WOLuNvCAL__SX308_BO1,204,203,200_

Okay… that’s if for my picks for now… don’t forget to sign up for the Gone Writing Publishing Newsletter HEREΒ for a chance to win a Santa box filled with a book from each of us at GWP… winner will be announced Dec 18th… Happy Wordage, Tracey

gwp

This, the day Dec 2, I reveal to you one fact about myself that no one knows… hmmm… that’s a hard one… I am pretty open about all things ME!!! The good and the bad… I believe in airing it all, if asked… so maybe I should amend this… for me Day one will be ‘one fact no one knows because they forgot to ask’ lol… nope… it will have to be ‘one fact no one knows but my mother’ cause momma knows all :p

  • I made out with my best guy friend, behind his girls back… his girlfriend just happen to be my best female friend…(I know, screwed up)Β but I had been crushing on this guy for years, and she had a tendency to BE WITH anyone I glanced at (and then cheat on them)… so I totally felt justified(teenage thinking)… thank heavens I didn’t let thing go all the way, cause he said he believed in transparency. which basically meant that he liked to stir things up and see what reactions he could get… very glad to be out of HS…

Now, that you know my dirty secret, go sign up for the Gone Writing Publishing Newsletter… HEREΒ …. and you will be entered to win a Santa Box full of free books by all of us at GWP… winner will be announced Dec 18th … woo who… Happy Wordage

Ups and Downs/MS Blues

2a25cb9d93574a63743ea1e33d983e59

For the most part, I deal with my illness (Multiple Sclerosis) and limitations with a positive spin. It isn’t easy but I look for the high points I can still have. Butttt… the ups and downs are still there. Looking for and sharing the UP moments helps me and those around me to deal with this scary reality.

3107b12909b0e3aad5bf70c456ff5eba

Why am I sharing this with you guys? Because it is human nature to fear and avoid what we don’t understand. I have found that being upfront and completely (the embarrassing, funny, scary, ludicrous, and at the painful) honest helps to bridge the awkward moments when I lose my words, break into tears, or look at a simple phrase with a million mile stare.

But dude… I grew up dealing with dyslexia, a little word soup is nothing new. I learned to laugh at my Duh moments. I learned to enjoy the fact that reading upside-down or backwards was a breeze.

Learning to deal and laugh about my brain and body having incorrect responses took a little longer but for the most part I have learned to roll with the punches and enjoy the things I still have in my life. I got my vision back, I relearned how to create my arts and craft hobbies, once in a while I have the energy to cook again, and best of all… I learned to create stories for others to enjoy. The edits are still a pain and at times near impossible, but I have others willing to help me out by stopping my missed words.

I’m thinking of making some MS themed swag for next year when I take my book baby, Shocking Finds, and hopefully his little sister to the Rebels and Readers book signing… over three hundred authors asked to sign up for the event, but only about 75 of us were able to make it in. I can’t wait to sit among my fellow writers and experience the event from their perspective. Okay… I am a little freaked out but excited… πŸ˜›Β IΒ plan to locate a chair that will allow me to sit through the hours without as much pain…Β most seating is a killer…. even if I have to pad the thing with pillows, I will be there…

That will be a definiteΒ UP moment… something to balance out theΒ DOWN moments. Like Scorpion… I love that show, but omg … I cried my eyes out as I watched Walter’s sister die. I had held up hope that the geniuses of the show would find a way toΒ help her at the last moment, but instead I sat there watching my worst fears. It took a few days and my mother’s support to bounce back to my positive outlook.

cf622af81da40044bce20cfa26dba382

I swear, I couldn’t stop crying… and not silent tears.. NOOOOO… there was mucus, hiccupping sobs that interfered with my breathing, and swollen eyes. It wasn’t pretty. When I went upstairs and saw Mom, I warned her not to watch if she didn’t want to cry. She told me I shouldn’t be watching Scorpion. At which point, I burst back into tears and almost shouted, “It’s not like they can kill her twice.” lol… just one of those over the top emotional moments for this MS gal… And it’s true… it was horrible but it isn’t a moment that the TV show can repeat, at least not to that degree. Now… if they kill off Ralph, the cute genius kid, I will have to call it quits… I love his character… brainiac kids are sooo adorable…

Besides… it is the awareness brought to the disease by Scorpion, Shemar Moore’s Baby Girl clothing, and other celebrity involvement/exposure that will spread the word and help the world to understand and want to help out with the further the cure cause.

And now that Thanksgiving is over and my down moment has passed, I am headed back to edits. I stillΒ have a couple of days left of NaNoWriMo to add to my word count.Β I already hit the 50k goal line… wooo who… in fact, Book Two is now at 72k words.Β It is looking like Book Two will be in the 80k range, shorter than Book One –Β Shocking Finds. But thenΒ BookΒ One in the Finder’s KeepersΒ Series took on the heavier burden of opening up the world of Marin and Kyland.Β I can’t wait to wrap up the edit rounds, and start looking for Beta Readers.

11033893_557711237709652_938735184380966700_n

Every day is all about admitting what I want, and then understanding what I can take on today and what has to wait for another day. Understand that those you know with MS may be hiding a multitude of pain, they may have uncontrollable emotions and freak out when the sun beats down, or move slow with their actions and reactions… but everyday is different… all they need is your understanding and support… I hope to see you all at Rebels and Readers Nov 2016 and even if you might tear up, you should definitely check out Scorpion… Happy wordage, Tracey

Title: Must Remember

Author: Colleen S. Myers

Release Day: November 2nd

ColleenMyersTeaser2

Synopsis:

Nineteen-year-old Elizabeth β€˜Beta’ Camden is a survivor.

When the E’maniβ€”those pale alien freaksβ€”destroy Earth with a plague of madness and scoop up the remains, Beta is one of the β€˜lucky’ ones. For years, she endures their tortures, experiments and games. Then one day, she manages to escape their ship with her life, and no memory of her time with them.

Stranded on their world, Beta wanders the mountains, looking for a way home. She stumbles onto the Fostβ€”the E’mani’s ancient enemy.γ€€ Their war with the E’mani is old and rooted in magic that the Fost once had and the E’mani crave. Magic Beta soon discovers she’s developing along with strange tattoos and disturbing glimpses of her past. The Fost take her in and train her in their ways. As she spends more time with them, she falls in love with their culture and with Marinβ€”he of the hot hands and slit eyes.

But the E’mani took her for a reason and they want her backβ€”dead or alive. If Beta doesn’t remember that reason soon, they’re all going to die.

Greeting the sunset

Excerpt:

His eyes were ghost white, with slit pupils, face smooth and hairless. A large tattoo on his neck spread up onto his cheek, and resembled claw marks. His eyes appeared much too big for his face; the brow pronounced, jaw thin, cheekbones sharp.

Those eyes rooted me; their milky color caused a distant memory to tug at my mind, and then fade away. They could have been fake lenses, but his slit pupils contracted as he focused on me, and a sinister smile wreathed his face.

Nope, those puppies were real and his expression was not reassuring. His eyes glistened with what looked like glee. I watched those eyes track up and down my body. His nostrils flared and he stalked in my direction, his movements slow and deliberate, but a little disjointed given the length of his limbs. He reminded me of a predator that had sighted its prey. I froze, his eyes mesmerizing me for a second before looking away.

Then it dawned on me. Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore. I should’ve realized it sooner. I kind of did realize it sooner. The suns, the rocks, the grass, the everything. This was not Earth. This guy was not human, the posture, the movement, the eyes. He was definitely not human.

Holy shit!

The fear I suppressed earlier rushed through me. My hands shook and my heart raced. I stumbled backward and turned to run, barreling smack dab into the tree. Graceful-R-Us.

The tall guy reached me as I staggered back and he blocked my escape. The other men twisted to stare then glanced at each other. Nobody looked happy to see me. The ones hunched near the press appeared frightened, their eyes wide.

“Who are you? How did you get here? Are there others?” The tall guy’s voice was strange, echoey. With a sick start, I realized he wasn’t speaking English, but I could still understand him. His voice was deep and rich, like aged whiskey, the echo the same. The effect was odd, a bit off-putting, and not even a little attractive.

Nope.

The tall guy pressed close, just short of touching me, his slit eyes alert and a snarl pulling at his lips. He had his hand on his knife but was not brandishing it. Santa slid to my right, flanking me. The other two men remained crouched by the apparatus. I backed up and held out my hands. My ass smacked the tree behind me. A chill raced through me. I stared at him until his questions registered.

The breath I’d been holding rushed out. “My name is Elizabeth, err, Beta. I’mβ€”.”

“What are you doing here?” he interrupted.

“I’m not sure. I woke up out there-“I pointed around me, then pointed to my head. “I was hurt, I think, I don’t know. Where am I?” Running my hands through my hair, I probed the back of my neck. Nada. My head didn’t hurt. Huh. Hadn’t there been a cut?

The tall guy laughed, “You did not wake up out there. You had to have traveled here. This is nowhere. Tell me the truth.” The last was a shout. The more he talked, the more agitated he became. He almost stuttered his words. Or maybe that was just me? How could I understand him? His right hand clenched and unclenched around the hilt of his knife. He edged even closer, pushing me farther back against the tree.

Compared to me, he was huge, at least six feet tall. There was no trace of fat on him. His muscles rippled as he leaned in and placed his face next to mine. I remained still, trying not to piss him off. Tears threatened, but I blinked them away. Damn allergies.

His eyes ignited at my silence. “How did you get out here?” he gritted out between compressed lips.

“I told you the truth. I don’t know how I got here. I woke up out there. I heard something thumping and moved toward it.” I gestured, looking at him and the others who surrounded us.

“Are there more of you?” he pushed.

I recalled the laughter, the crash, and the cold from earlier, but…didn’t mention it. I hadn’t seen anything.

“Are there more of you?” he growled.

“No, when I woke up, no one else was there.”

“That is not an answer.”

“Yes, it is,” I retorted. It really was an answer.

“No, it is not,” he snarled at me. His hand gripped his knife harder, knuckles whitening. He took the blade out of its sheath and flipped it backward. His nose grazed mine and heat spread in its wake. My heart skipped a beat. I stared straight ahead.

Minty breath wafted across my face and his teeth were not bad, a bit pointy, but otherwise normal. At least he brushed, or I hoped he did because he was at kissing distance. The rest of the men remained motionless. Barbarian Santa’s gaze darted between the tall guy and me.

I was splayed against the bark like road kill.

“Tell me!” he shouted.

And with that I was done. All the tension, all the fear, all the questions rolling through my mind and this guy was yelling at me. Screw him. Plus there was something about him I liked but didn’t, all at the same time. It was confusing. My stomach churned. I didn’t need this. None of this was my fault.

“What do you want from me?” I screamed back. “I said I was alone.”

He reared back a bit, startled by my answering shout and glare, which he couldn’t miss, since he was still right there in my face.

“I do not believe you. You are an E’mani.” The tall guy spit the name out as if it left a bad taste in his mouth.

Who the hell were the E’mani? A vague silhouette formed in my mind, then faded away. Something else I didn’t know; great. I added it to the list.

“You wear E’mani clothes. You are an E’mani spy!” His words were triumphant as he pressed his knife against my throat.

When I swallowed, I felt the prick of the blade and a trickle of blood dripped down my neck. My head swam and my bladder loosened a bit but I refused to give him the satisfaction.

His eyes flickered, confused, as the moment stretched on. We maintained our desperate eye contact.

I panted and the longer this went on, the more my muscles tightened until my fingers went numb. I tasted violence on the wind. Neither of us moved. Ten seconds. Twenty. He blinked first and let his dagger drop with a growl and spat next to me on the grown. “E’mani treza.”

I didn’t know what he just called me but it was too much. I was done. I snapped and started shoving him across the field. “I’m not E’mani. I don’t even know who or what that is. You asshole. I’m from Earth. I don’t know where I am, I don’t know how I got here. I don’t know anything! I need help and you aren’t helping me. Please, help me.” At this last, my voice cracked, and I fell to my knees, shoulders falling.

The tall guy seemed so stunned by my response, he’d let me push him back to the mine. He stared at me for a long second. One. Two. He brought his blade up again. It pressed into my neck forcing my head back. Then with nary a word, he dropped his arm.

My throat burned.

Oh.

Huh. Everything started to fade and the world turned black.

Oct 17 writing prompt… Nine different WAYS

I thought that for Oct 17th’s prompt, we could take the word WAY and approach it nine different ways… use the word WAY and peruse the pictures to come up with a story idea… writing prompts are great fillers for when you get stuck during next months NaNoWriMo… okay, now for Nine

In the family WAY… Adding a baby to the picture can throw a whole new spin on your characters way of life, their personality, and their willingness to be ruthless… some may freak out, unready for the responsibility… or maybe overwhelming fear of one small being depending on them…

df5e01810a961923763a665436762d1fa71827243ef503c8db1b8143f8568df680b13405c1ed0be0b08751edd4ddb9062c0d815f7700fef53779920952dd9b42

My WAY or the highway… This is a stubborn personality type that your other characters may want to punch in the face… but what if your character is an alpha male, and in a situation that needs him/her to be in charge… my way or the highway might come into play… eventually you could allow him/her a chance to grow a little, by allowing someone else to make the decisions

113a54224281f74a87c29d59487e0124aaeda6a5c3530085010b5086cabb5162

Going the WAY of the dodo. This is a phrase that has to do with extinction. The dodo was discovered and then quickly hunted into extinction rather quickly, because of their passive nature. If people, businesses, technology is unwilling or unable to change with the tide, to grow into more to stay ahead of the race, then they too will become extinct… For us writers, Barns and Noble is an excellent example… they weren’t quick or efficient enough to compete with Kindle and now we see less and less actual physical locations in which to purchase books… people still love a good paperback, but the cheaper prices and the ease of delivery makes E-books attractive.

b2da3178e4c772ffc791c337285288345f087f60f4a68c95b749d41ad53beae7

Which WAY/ freeway. Your character could be on a trip. I like to go on vacation and try to stop along the way at random places that catch my fancy. I call it going on walk about… Which way should your character go?? Have then set out for one destination, but be sidetracked by something… A roadside sign that shows Amish country fudge or construction… A flat tire in the middle of nowhere… Hunger or restroom needs… Once they stop, so many different things could try to keep them from getting on their way, endanger their lives, or even make them stay and never want to leave.

e735b8168ed120cbd4a076df9d377c73f55dab651ba70c0c12a9c5c51c0b47bf

That WAY lies destruction. Your character keeps doing something that leads them closer and closer to a dead end, a fight, further away from their goal.

9ebd97f43ac1b6232cfaffe5dfaa89f12bfe61476e36da1cb8f5628bb210bc36

In the WAY of progress. Is your character a nature lover, afraid that a corporation will clear out a forest of trees so that they can build a resort… or a logger… or a family of Brownies (or other Fae) living in the trees, needing to learn to cohabitate with humans. Stories revolving around trees are the ones that pop into my mind, but standing in the way of progress could be so many different things… a group of terrorists that refuse to grow, to change, and will fight to stick to the old ways… even trying to force their ways on the progressive cultures… technologies, businesses, farmers, book stores, cultures… anything or anyone that stands in the way of progress will be fighting to stick to the old ways…

fb9fa1d5ab70f5b072d1310265e11b92ffae078673e37ee411c5ed9b2400e05f2469c71daf5f91a26e9b7438b623b83a

WAYlay… hmmm what does the word waylay mean and how can we use it in a story… this is when you take by surprise, attack from the shadows, strike when others have their guard down. The trickster Fae have a tendency to draw travelers from the beaten path, get them lost, and then all manner of bad things can happen… Or a pitcher know for their fast balls can surprise the batter with a curve ball… or maybe your character is a hunter, lying in wait for a deer…

c4f98b1b5512fa9f64b8cf25ea3318efd1469b07c0cedf73562a59787acb8a74fcb1fc5441342bbfd7b67bd1744ded56

Give-a-WAY. This one is very self explanatory. It is when you give things away, toys to children, money as surprise gifts, even the suckers at the bank when you go in to cash a check…

f347d027d4232005985eec3cfc125092ed304f1f5275b37d43caa76a480cf015a7cd85506e7133a874235a96545df3277eba9c1e24b4a96ff6eb8e8eb49be985

Layaway. This is when you lay claim to something, and then have time to pay it off… Your character can work in layaway, and deal with the insanity of holiday gift layaways… or maybe a woman that has a layaway for her child goes to cancel it because she knows she wont be able to come up with the funds, and she finds that someone has paid for the purchases… turns out a man that secretly loves her knew of her troubles and secretly paid for her stuff…

168ba1649ef48b1732a52a65421f1e27

That concluded our nine different WAYS. But I just had to add this last piece… it has the word layaway in it, but for the most part it is just a cute little story… Happy wordage, Tracey

Oct 16 writing Prompt… NAILS

Alrighty… we are half way through October, with more writing prompts to enjoy. For Oct 16 we are working with NAILS

if all if fails you can always make some jewelry…

It could be a gothic theme story/character, or a paranormal theme where jewelry made from cold iron keeps evil Fae at bay… muhahahaha

ef2b4cfb7cb24d27723c718c5bfc6523

all pics on pinterest

Nails used to hang signs. Warning signs that your character ignores… but why?? Maybe there are treasures to be had, or innocents to be saved… Or your character could be hanging pictures, which could lead to a hole in the wall or a hammer landing on their thumb…

9c8598dab1dff9e37b32adc213894fe5b7420fdb1ef31758907748ae96d092b5

Then there is the saying, ‘The last nail inΒ my coffin’… the straw that broke the camel’s back, one more mistake that could prove fatal… Plus… coffins are spooky, can house dead – zombies or vampires… or even nice vampires that just like to use them for old times sake…

259dccfe5b416301151ad8432fbc3d1e3a74acf0d92a4f99d77886dd9ebc5fe4

You can hit the nail on the head. Usually this would mean that your character got it exactly right. It could be a shot in the dark, or even a calculated effort…

You could think of the Quote: If all you have is a hammer, all your problems start looking like nails. You need a different approach to different problems. Don’t let you character be monotonous.

f0bb601e5fe7ac64e9ab1e6b05460fad

Nails could also mean fingernails. They can damage others in a fight, or elongate into claws/talons, be caked with DNA after a fight or the only place to find signs of a killer.

9997fc839bd92e20121da64f4306c7acaef9ac28ea773fbd88cc84b7924bc31cc2812fdb4da403dca5127fdf2897cac3

You character could use nails to build things… Houses, furniture, plant holders, and all done with your trusty nail-gun. You could have a carpenter, a hero boarding up windows to block out evil, or even working with habitat for humanity…

f7e8d3d92686f483346059b3288f0033a75b84bd360d6264ede671bcbff4ae7b7612669c90a0629016ee15e91464614023744ac6b488a2a389b35c27ff28ddb0d066be8b5e433039a79969f826411533

Ooooo… and then there is the evil nail… the hangnail. You character could be manicurist or a perpetual nail biter. Or you could focus on what happens if you bite your nails, what happens if you get bacteria in a cut, usually from biting.

Okay… that last one was gross. But make your characters real, slip in little bits of information that bring your characters to life. Happy wordage, Tracey

An act of rebellion, Marin doesn’t think that running into the new store in town will hurt anything. Her aunt will never know… right? One car wreck later, her aunt is hospitalized, Marin is forced to spend her twenty-first birthday fighting for her life, and magic – the very thing her aunt has always sworn to be for fools – is real. And so is the irresistible Fae dedicated to Marin’s protection.

Kyland has searched Earth-side and all the other realms, looking for a missing Fae child. A child his Queen prophesied would be able to one day save the Fae people from the Danshue, as the evil Fae threat tries to overwhelm the entire Supernatural Community. A child that would know nothing of her blocked gifts, or her Fae heritage waiting to be claimed. A child that has…

—- answer toΒ Hedges prompt —- (this has not been edited)

Nick watched the delicious Sam pick through leaf samples and reexamine casts of lemur foot prints all while ignoring the whispering and snickering going on behind her back. Her co-workers looked at her and saw a newbie chasing ghost stories, and myths. They were looking for a missing child, not helping out animal control.

Nick suppressed a chuckle at their ignorance. If they only knew that they were doing both. He wasn’t just looking for a child. He was looking for a shifter-child; one that obviously came from one of the local lemur clans.

His eyes were glued to Sam as bent over yet more print casts. She bounced a little on her feet as she moved from one set of prints to another, and back again.

“Huh. Okay. So more than one.” Her words pulled his eye up from her excitedly bouncing rear. Too bad really. He was enjoying the view.

Ready to send Sam off on whatever hunch she had come up with so that he could have a moment alone with the evidence, Nick inquired, “More than one what?” He need to search for clues without the prying eyes of humans and Norms – those Fae without knowledge or access to supernatural powers.

Sam held two of the print casts as she turned around. “These are from two different lemurs. So we are looking at least two.”

Mastins walked over, shaking his head. “You confused, Cass? What the hell do a couple of rodents have to do with the case?”

Carefully placing the casts back with the others, Sam glared at her partner. Nick smiled and stepped back to watch the tiny beauty tear Mastins a new one.

Hands on her hips, Sam hissed, “When I do a job, I follow every lead. And I don’t ignore any clue, no matter how weird or insane. I don’t know how you work, but I prefer to check every angle. Is that a problem?”

As Sam and Mastins started a hushed but intense hissing contest, Nick moved up to the evidence. Pulling an essence crystal from his pocket, he ran the rock over the leaves and print cases. The crystal pulled information from all the clues and transmitted a kind of report. Holding the crystal tight, he could sense that there had been at least two children and one adult. One of the kids could shift into a lemur but the other one felt like a Nature Fae. Oddly the adult felt like a human.

Nick was used to dealing with Danshue, or evil Fae, but not humans. What was a human doing kidnaping Fae children? And how the a powerless human manage to catch a lemur-shifter? The lemur clans kept their children hidden in magical holds. Usually these hold were hidden withing plant-life, something like a tree or a garden hedge. The lemurs could slip into a hidden home large enough to hold a family of twenty. The inside of a two foot hedge didn’t look large enough to hold such a large building, but magic could change just about anything.

Sam and Mastins were practically vibrating and red in the face, when chief Yu noticed. Glancing between his two underlings, Yu barked, “Mastins- continue working the case. And Cass- run down your lead with our out of state friend here.” Yu glared in Nick’s direction, before turning back to Sam. Arms crossed, feet braced wide, Yu smiled. If you could call that a smile. It looked more like a cat eyeing his unsuspecting prey. “If this crock pot plan of yours doesn’t work, I can always pull out some more transfer papers.”

Looked like Nick had a tag along for his hunt, and Sam would soon be looking for another job. This day wasn’t working out for either of them.

An Interview with Angela Ackerman

I absolutely loveΒ these books… The Emotions Thesaurus, The Positive Traits Thesaurus, The Negative Traits Thesaurus… I loved this interview and went on to read the one aboutΒ Becca Puglisi

Those of you in the MS circle know that our words and thoughts can be jumbled at times. It is like a mental and physical case of ‘it’s on the tip of my tongue’, but so much worse. Still, the knowledge is there. For me it helps to spark that knowledge with other words and descriptions… When I’m talking to someone, I will just start throwing out explanations until it comes to me… (lol… unless I’m tired, then I just say ‘WORDS!’ and stop trying… those closest to me have learned what this means… it means my brain needs a break :P)

When I’m writing their books help me to spark just how I want to show my character’s actions and feelings, instead of just telling the reader… Showing vs Telling… it is read and can be a pain, even when my words aren’t hiding from me. These girls rock, and they have helped me soooo much… I seriously doubt I would have ever found a publisher to take me on without their books, and the influence of a few others…

Allegiant Redeemed

Please, oh please… let this plea reach Hollywood before it is too late. Do not scare us with the movie version of Allegiant, the third book in the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth. Take a look at Determinant: One choice will change everything Β a fanfic that replaces Allegiant (yep, a whole book) I have yet to read this novel but after all the rave reviews, I have placed it on my TBR list. I love the first movie, and immediately picked up every book I could find that went along with the story. After finishing Allegiant, I refused to give out one more penny to the project. Others have voiced the same let down, so help us out. And folks, if Hollywood ignores us, just go and ease the pain by reading Determinant (the way better ending)

Happy wordage.. check out the following post for more info

My move to Cardiff

Okay… so not my move to Cardiff, to I would love to see Wales. I just wanted to share blogger pal, Georgie’s, post. As well as Ireland, Hay-on-Way, and repeat the experience of Germany … and ooo New Zealand. Really I could keep listing vacation spots all day. For now, I will stick to exploring the U.S.A. There are still a few states that I need to peruse. Seattle, WA; Texas and the bayous of Louisiana. Man, now I wanted to pack the car and hit the road. Though I will always love Kentucky, definitely one of the best states to live in.

Season!!! I must have all four. lol

GeorgieΒ added me to her Liebster Award winners. Some of my fellow bloggers don’t enjoy these, but I find them cute and an excellent opportunity to have some fun with information and pictures. Yep, that’s the OCD talking. Anything artistic can always be tweaked… lol. Sadly, I don’t have enough time right now, but I did make sure to save a draft of the Award, keeping it on hand for my next free moment.

The award could wait, but I wanted to invite everyone to check out Georgie’s site. Day to day life and a peak inside her literature studies. For those uninterested or unmoved to crack the spine of the classics, you can get her take on the classics, as well as a few of her own works as the site grows. (it’s like a cheat sheet to the classics)Β Personally, I love Pride & Prejudice. In any form. Movie or older than dirt book … I love it. Which is odd, since my favorite genre is paranormal/fantasy romance. And of course, all things cowboy. πŸ˜›

Anywho, here is the ups and downs of Georgie’s move to Cardiff. Please, oh please, stay away from that mold girl. The picture looks like ‘black mold’ to me, which freaks me out. I actually know someone that died form inhaling the spores while cleaning. Make the landlord do it instead. It can be his punishment for procrastination. Happy wordage

A short piece of pain…

Okay… So this isn’t a piece I am working on, though I see it’s potential for a future Contemporary Romance… Maybe once I get all the other rough drafts and story ideas finished, I will have time to work this one out the rest of the way… for now, enjoy my heart breaking piece of woe…
This idea came to me when I saw,

————-
Jason watched as Neil beat his fists into the ground. Bracken, rocks, hard frozen forest floor … Nothing could stop him from expressing his rage, and bloodying his hands in the process.
How had a brother’s bonding, hunting trip gone so terribly wrong?
Eliza … that’s how.
Jason left Neil to his pain, and turned to focus on the couple using a lake side blanket to express their passion. Hunching his shoulders, Jason held his torso tightly, fighting the need to fall to his knees and join his twin. The had both love Eliza from the moment she was transplanted to their small Kentucky town. Her ripe curves were no more than straight lines back then, but still she had an allure that drew all the guys in.
Seeing her spread out for another man’s touch broke Jason heart. He would always love her, but he could let her go.
Turning, he watched as Neil pushed to his feet, and pulled his shotgun to his shoulder. Moving closer, Jason hissed, “What the hell, man?”
Neil’s only reply was to shake his head, and neck stiff with tension, released the safety, preparing to shoot.
The horror of never seeing Eliza’s deep chocolate eyes sparkle with her laughter again, forced Jason’s hand. Before he could think it through, he had tackled Neil to the ground. Taking away Neil’s gun, his only thought. As the shot rang out into the quite forest air, Jason stiffened in surprise, shock, and … pain.
————–
Jason vibrated, wanting to tear his brother’s head off. He wanted to put a bullet between that blonde surfer wanna-be. He didn’t know the guy, didn’t want to know him, but he definitely wanted to kill him.
Shoving at Jason’s chest, he raged, “Get the hell off me.” The element of surprise was gone, and if he didn’t hurry his target would disappear as well.
Jason’s heavier weight had his body imprinting the forest floor. Neil gave up trying to force his twin to move, instead moving his legs around so he could inspire Jason to move himself. When his knee came up to connect with Jason’s tender bits, Neil expected to hear him yell out in suffering. But nothing.
Something was wrong.
“Oh my God …” That soft lilting voice drew Neil’s gaze. There she was, the woman of his dreams. He would turn eighteen in three weeks. He would be a man. A man that could move out of the hell he called home, could give a woman his whole heart, all the attention and love she needed. He would be free, and as soon as he could run off surfer dude, he could place his claim on the finest woman to come out of Jefferson High.
His cheeks flaming, he again tried to rouse Jason. “Come on man. I need to get up.”
Still nothing.
Eliza came to his side, the blanket from her afternoon of fun wrapped securely around her mouthwatering frame. One day he would have the right to touch her, to merge his body with hers. One day.
He was about to slap some sense into his twin when he realized that his hand was covered in blood. Staring at the damning red, Neil barely heard Eliza’s mournful cry. The longer he stared at the dripping liquid, the more he wanted to join her cry. What had he done? There were other women. More important needs. He didn’t care about his father’s belt, or his mother’s dazed stare. He had a twin, someone that knew him and accepted him… faults and all. He had ..
Voice breaking, he pleaded, he prayed, “Jase. Come on. You’re all right.”
But nothing was alright. Nothing would ever be alright again.

Blog to the Sun, and pass the award

Sunshine Blogging AwardΒ Challenge

img_6177

Thankfully, I managed to get a moment of breathing room to squeeze in a reply for this sunny award that hummingbird redemptionΒ has nominated me. Thank you blogger buddy!

I also got nominated by Georgie for another one, and hope to get to that one by the end of the week… These are excellent ways for bloggers to get to know one another, while having a little fun…

Now the rules are simple, I must nominate 10 people, thank my wonderful nominator, and create questions of my own! Have fun learning a little more about ME!!! Happy wordage!

—- I was asked…

  1. What is your favourite song?
Not sure I have a favorite song. I love country, and Evanescence, ooo… and Adelle … love Stevie Nicks… in fact I sang ‘Landslide’ for my high school graduation… love that song. I guess, for this list of question I will pick Landslide.
2.Β Favourite Colour?
That’s easy… purple… all purple… the painting I am did for my mother *it is in the picture gallery, of the purple flower* is one of my favorites. There is purple used judiciously throughout my home, my dishes, my walls, it even finds its way into my wardrobe. Even painting a purple tree on my wall.
IMG_0377IMG_0374
3. What is your favourite quote?
It would have to be the first stanza of William Blake’s poem ‘To See A World…’
Really, I love the whole thing, but the first four lines have always been my fav… I guess this isn’t your normal answer but I want to live by these words…
To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower,
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour.
4.Β  If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I love to travel… I have been to a few countries in Europe,Β but I would like to see Ireland some day. ooo NewΒ Zealand.Β And if Texas ever gets a cooler weather pattern, let me know… I will be there.
5.Β  Favourite movie?
Pride and Prejudice … the newer version with Keri Knightly. Or maybe Medicine Man with Sean Connery… Or maybe Blade Trinity, because Ryan Reynolds was hot, kick arse, and hilarious… or maybe … *did I mention that I used to love movies, and still have a lot of favs that I watch on my laptop so that I don’t have to deal with MS headaches… man… now I want to go watch Ryan Reynolds in something.
6.Β  What brings you happiness?
Dogs (especially my pugs), art in any form (though I have a blast with oil paints), and words… I love words. I love all the things that have come back to me after those first few years of my MS diagnosis. And I will fight anyone that tries to take them away from me again, including myself or this dang disease.

7.Β  WhatΒ  was your favourite age and why?
I would say 34, because that is my current age and you should always celebrate life… but I truly love the years around five and under. That time when a child hasn’t learned to always use an indoor voice. When they laugh with there entire soul … that sound always makes me smile.
8.Β  Favourite season?
I love the fall. Here in Ky you get some of the best colors as the leaves begin to change, and the weather is perfect. Oh, and I was born in the fall, so I guess I started soaking up the smells and sites from the day I was born. πŸ˜›
101_0011
9. Favourite animal?
I love Pugs. In fact, I seem to have always had one or two of them around. I got my first Pug-baby when I turned ten. Best birthday present ever. And horses… I love to run flat out across an open flied. It’s been awhile but it is a love that you never lose. Even watching the animals is a pleasure.
10.Β  Favourite Author?
That is definitely not something I can answer with just one name. Patricia Briggs, Laurell K Hamilton, Lora Leigh, Eileen Wilks, Karen Chance, Lynsay Sands, Christine Feehan…. nope I’m too tired to keep listing… I told you, I love words. Not just my own.
But I do love my own stories, and am happy to announce that Shocking Finds can be pre-ordered at amazon. Can’t wait until I am able to add more sites where my Publisher (Mary; Gone Writing Publishing) will be putting it up.Β Check out my awesome/electric cover and the accompanying blurb…
—–Now for the questions I will send out to others… hummm
1.Β  What is your guilty pleasure? Do you lick the icing off cakes when no one is looking, do you eat before going out for a mean you know will cause you stress, do you baby talk to you cat??? What little thing makes you happy, and makes you feel silly?
2.Β Β  When you go to the movies, do you go for action, comedy, drama… and why? Is there an actor that draws you to this type of movie, or does this type of movie help you to relax in some way … maybe you just like getting the crap scared out of you so you can hold on to your date… come on fess up… lol
3.Β  If you are an author… What would you like to say about your upcoming novel? If you are an avid reader … What book has you bouncing from foot to foot, as you wait for its release?
4.Β  Accent?? What type of accent do you have, what type do you love to hear, and what type would you like to have if you could change your own???
5.Β  ‘The hills are alive with the sound of music…’ Vacation locations… Where is your favorite past vacation spot, and where would you like to go before you die?
6.Β  No matter if you are an author or not, what advice would you give to your favorite author?
7.Β  If you could make everyone in the world answer one question, no holds bar and unfailingly honestly…. what would it be? muhahahaha
8.Β  What is your spirit animal? yep, I really want to know… personally, I think I am some kind of hybred mix. Like a pug puppy, hyena, dolphin mix… yep… I like that, so that is what I will be. (Any Native Americans out there … feel free to answer with the honest spiritual answer, or one that is more insane like me…)
9.Β  I always have pens, or refills for my favorite pen, in my purse. Do you do anything similar (and guys, we will call it a man-purse, or just always available in your truck πŸ˜› ) And do you have a favorite pen?
10.Β  And last but not least, describe your craziest life experience.
Now… I will be sending these questions out to…
Β 1. I will start with GeorgieΒ so we can get someone’s views from college life, across the pond… a realllllly big pond πŸ˜› Everyone check out her site, and get her take on the classics in literature.
2. StephΒ is fellow NaNoWriMo lover… really, everyone should use NaNo to get that extra push and acceptance from the writing community.
3. RomarinΒ is an admitted eccentric, which I love… if I’m not a little big insane while writing, I’m doing something wrong (usually forcing my words) clicking on the link will take you to one of a book blurb I can’t wait to read.
4. Opinionated ManΒ the name says it all… recently he has reworked his site due to rude comments and abasement from the outside world… which I don’t understand…. maybe I missed something that would have angered me, while reading his posts, but I doubt it. Some people enjoy malicious hatred and use their words to harm others… booo… check out his site and judge for yourself, but please, when you disagree with something you see (on his site and all others) share your thoughts with class, and treat others in a manner that you would want to be treated.
5. Bradan’s WorldΒ focuses on book reviews for the most part. Writer are always best when they are also readers, that means we read a lot… this is another good site to get someone else’s take on what to read next
6. SallyΒ shares her take on almost anything and everything you could think up… including promotional ideas… great site for writers to check out.
7. John’sΒ blog is about writing and travel… you can definitely find excerpt to wet you appetite for short stories, and more.
8. Mellie’s MuseΒ read about her characters and short stories, check out the worlds she creates.
9. only child writes blogΒ agrees with me… she wants everyone’s opinion but keep the nasty at home… πŸ˜›Β … she is writing a memoir about her life as an only child… (hey we onlys rock)
10. No Passing FancyΒ I just love her take on things. As well as the latest slogan/pic she posted… As well as the story/background she uncovered about the phrase ‘let’s do this’… sooo cool
11751970_1621919051381119_6744062323772151430_nso, Let’s do This… Happy wordage, no go forth and write πŸ˜› Tracey Clark
