Pre-Release… Get your copy for FREE

Southern Discoveries_ebook (1)

After two nights in a row, staying up to the wee hours of the morning, and growling at my computer as I fought to figure out how to format Southern Discoveries into an ebook, the pain, sweet, and swearing finally paid off…. muhahaahahahahaha…. I did it… take that MS….

Okay, so thanks to Pronoun.com it was pretty easy… the difficult part had more to do with my uncooperative brain than my formatting task…

Sooooooo….. about three in the morning last night, I looked at my screen and realized I was ready to hit the publish button… the ebook version was ready to go… now I only had to wait for the woman that created my book covers to finish with the spine and back cover so that I could set up the paperback format on createspace.com … and this left me with an opportunity that I hadn’t thought of before…

e2ff9c5d83ae2b06eb3efe8d2991c157

For the next week, I am offering FREE ecopies to anyone willing to leave a review… (Reviews really are the devil to get, but oh so important) … just drop me a line and I will make sure that you get your copy … even if it means I have to swear at my computer some more… 😛 … I already have the Mobi & Epub versions, and will have the PDF version later today…

And truthfully, it would be an enormous help if y’all could stop in at amazon, goodreads, or one of the other retailers, blogs, etc and drop a line or two one what you thought of Southern Discoveries… as the pre-order links go up, I will post them so that you know where to find the book in order to give a review, or you can wait until after it is out, and easy to find…

Most books are set up for pre-order months before the release date, but Southern Discoveries grew a mind of its own and took longer than I expected to finish… (and I might be a bit impatient) But its all good… because you guys get it now, and not months from now…. wooo whooo…

and lastly, I decided to set up a newsletter… you can get Finder’s Keepers & Skymann (coming soon) series info delivered to your email… this email list will hopefully allow me to offer more pre-releases, monthly updates, and other book related goodies… just head HERE and leave your info…

I didn’t think I would need an email list, not when I could just use Facebook, Twitter, this blog, etc. to send out updates… but I’ve found that there are certain sites that ask you to use something along the lines of MailChimp …. sooo take a moment and sign up to get your Newsletter

happy wordage everyone, Tracey

dont do it, it just looks cool

Okay… so this is some stranger on pinterest, but it reminded me of a memorable vacation trip… mom, me, my aunt and cuz… beach time for all…

playing in the sun and surf sounds fun to most, but it is actually quite dangerous… sand attacking every crevice, sharks and jelly fish always on the hunt, and silly little girls with a love of gymnastics and dance…

sooo… we were all watching my little cuz romp around, when she suddenly threw her hands into the air, in a divers pose… the water was about up to her knees (almost… I stress, almost) when she hiked into the air… and we all screamed ‘NO!!’ as we watched the scene unfold in slow motion (okay, I all went rather fast)

she was coming back down toward the water, the water that rapidly went out to join the rest of the ocean… someone caught it on video camera, not sure where that is, and it is cringe worthy… until she popped back up to her feet, embarrassed, we all thought that she had broken her neck… soooo yeah… double check your stunts… lol… the look cool less than half the time… 😛 but who am I to lecture… dangerous tricks was my middle name as a young’un…

Monthly Goods

I have been thinking… blogging is very important to a writer but what do I really have to say to people besides my writing??? So what did I come up with??? Monthly goods, or more accurately, weekly goods… Like the first week of every month I could update the world on book progress…

The second week of every month??? How about Multiple Sclerosis facts from my point of view… I mean, we all have issues and problems that we have to deal with on a daily basis… it is only through exposure that the scary and unknown can be faced… as human beings we have a very long history of lashing out at what we don’t understand… I actually had a woman screaming in my face when i parked in a handicapped parking space… not cool… but when you first look at me, i  look healthy and in the prime of life… HA… after I was near tears and screaming back that she could call my doctor up for my latest MRI (possible foul language involved) she became meek and started explaining all the reasons why her behavior was acceptable…. still not cool… I know that explaining my day to day MS blues might not help with parking lot attacks, but if those I know and those I interact with know what MS is and how it can affect my reactions and health, then hopefully misunderstandings can be avoided… but lets be a little more fun with the topic… lots of facts, and some oops, the MS made me do it stories… (like the time I threw my diet coke in my own face because of an arm twitch…)

Week three??? Lets do art time… I love all things art… and when I need to recharge (aka: give my brain a rest) I put down the evil edits and do something artsey… paint an oil painting, design a bracelet, and I plan to start making my own pendants…. the clay has been bought, and soon the pendants will be created… muhahahaha… not to mention the design book mom picked out for one of my Christmas presents (shhh, don’t tell)

And finally we rap up the month with Random Chat… like ranting and raving about my favorite shows and movies, the local restaurants, and vacation fun… and everything has to be full of pinterest pictures as well as my own pictures…

But that only takes up four days out of every month… that is a lot of days left un-blogged… boooo…. these are the early days of my writing career… which means I have time to put in a few more blogs than the more famous authors… So lets put in a few book reviews when I have read something new (which is my other pass-time) and random daily insanity posts… woo who… for now, happy wordage every one, Tracey Clark

almost here !!!

I am feeling the excitement and pressure from waiting and wondering. Will Shocking Finds be able to reach a large number of people? Will those that read through my baby find the world I created to be an enjoyment? Will they give the same kind of appreciative reviews as those that have already had a chance to experience the world of Marin and Kyland? So far the reception has been overwhelmingly positive … enough to make me blush. Whenever I feel my friend ‘Doubt’ coming near, there are a few comments that I pull out for strength. 😛

I have been working to get all my ducks in a row, when I’m not finishing a few art projects for my Cousin Erin’s wedding. And to add even more to this month of fun, I drove my mother down to spend time on the beach and with out cousin Jesse … Lot’s of opportunities for pictures and books.

IMG_1054 (1)

This is what I would call my ‘why the heck not’ purchases. 😛 All things that I could use, but mostly I just really wanted them. From the crazy neighbors to the horror stories, from the animal info to the survival guide … all important. I may not need them at this exact moment, but you never know. Writing a book that is interesting means you need facts and knowledge. Just because I write paranormal/fantasy romance, that doesn’t get me off the fact finding hook. A lot of my world revolves around the imagined, but there are always a few reality based facts involved.

IMG_1052IMG_1053

I managed to find a few books on crystals. For the first book it was enough to know that Marin had a crystal that everyone went around calling a maturation crystal, or just a crystal for her Transitions Birthday. I used the her birthday gift to herself in a few chapters at the beginning and then again at the end, but I didn’t go into depth (thinking that it would be an object that was rarely seen) HA. Now I need to know more about her crystal, so that Marin can eventually find out more. See … research.

As for the Indian/First People books … hey … those are my people. But other than the fact that my grandfather looked like he knew his way around a reservation, my knowledge of the culture is sorely lacking. And then I found out that the Fae actually came over to Earth-side and mated with the First People. Jeeze… no one tells me anything… but the voices in my head suddenly demanded that this is how it all went wrong for our Fae half-breeds here Earth-side. While I was waiting for the latest book cover proof, I had decided to edit some on one of my short stories. I was going along, and everything was fine, then suddenly Joffrey decides to drop this little bomb shell in my lap. He is just lucky that I like the idea … I have killed off characters for less … muhahahaha… Anywho … It looks like Joffrey’s short will end up being a novella, but I haven’t decided if it should be shared before or after the second full length novel… Hopefully, after Shocking Finds is out and I finish the edit for the second novel, one of the characters will let me know…

So that is what I did for beach fun, book stores and edits. OOO, and I think we have the book cover almost finalized. I can’t wait to share. Otherwise I tried to take as many pictures as I could, when my head and the heat cooperated.

101_0184101_0220101_0210

I saw these at the beach front wildlife preserve down from Garden City. A few overcast evenings made going on a short walk-about possible. But after walking around the and finding three, just three, lovely pics, I decided that I would have been better off checking out the Botanical Gardens across the street. Other than these and some pics of extremely white sand, I saw lots and lots of crabs. There were enough of the little devils to change the name to the ‘Wild Crab Bonanza’

101_0206101_0198

I took a few more, but some of them came out a little blurry. Lots of crab movement, and thicker numbers of the ones that were about the size of nickels, dimes, and quarters. Ever seen Lands End with Johnny Depp… sooo, yeah … Lots.

Here are some beach and wave pics to round out this post, and I hope to come back with more Shocking Finds updates soon… Happy Wordage, Tracey

Beware of Sand

Beach time

c2abbfbed616c08c4e55a7d9d090fa9b

*all pictures from pinterest/ will be blogging my own later

Most people associate vacation time with sunbathing on the beach, walking through the surf, and playing in the world’s largest sandbox. Nope. Sorry, that’s not me. lol. Although I love floating along in the salt water, bobbing upon the surface like an inflatable raft, I hate sand. I mean I really hate sand. Those small little particles find their way into the most inconvenient of places. While the water can cool your body once you get there, you feel as if you’re moving across an oven on high heat, the sand fighting you ability to move faster than crawl, as your feet begin to cook. (I always forget water shoes or flip flops) Once I reach the refreshing cool waves, I start to relax… for a while. da da daa daaaa … (that’s my shark noise.. lol) I am sure that one day I will be tasted by a passing shark, so I have made it my mission in life to have shark steak before  that happens… at least then the shark and I will be even.

 f9fcf8179367e0343195888632125f1c f96ae115be7e3e098837e566b79e28668d68fa37a71fb9be3f49b5414e3046ed

Sand and sharks aside, there is also the heat to consider…

There seems to be an acceptable dress code that only lasts as long as you’re within a fifty mile radius of sandy shores… and heatwaves… that dress code??? It is a simpler way to accessorize — little, to no clothes, on the beach — and cover-up optional the rest of the time. Though please wear some shoes if you plan to go into a restaurant.

Okay… it isn’t that bad, but dang, it is close. It is just so dang hot.

I may not strip to the ‘bare’ necessities, but shorts and low cut, tank tops are a common occurrence. After my first foray or two in the ocean, I am ready to hit the nearest book store. Readers and writers … this is our home. An air conditioned building with book upon book to explore. 😛 I spend a lot of time in book stores when my mother wants to enjoy the smells and sights of the ocean. Me … I also love the smells and sights, but I would rather explore during the day and gaze over my hotel balcony at night. MS makes my time moving through the heat limited. Enjoying slow paced, air conditioned activities give me more time to enjoy a vacation.

577f5aa097540a342af90796a85faef91e097db43480ad3784e737a8e4969eb3 92a7566b23d4216f3da103c0685a490b

There are a lot of great things about the beach. The smell of the ocean 65452cacff8c30bf188c8720e11e28ad the animals ready to snap you in half or the ones willing to steal your food…83f66c0990e16a765b381151190e0a71 1482411ba8ad23c3f6568bfd219a6caf … The flying inhabitants of the sandy regions are definitely fond of the excess food to be found when humans are around. I have feed pelican and seagulls, a number of times. Sometimes against my will. The pelicans came at the end of a deep sea fishing trip. They lined up along the back of the boat and waited, making it obvious that is wasn’t their first rodeo. I got to toss the bait fish to these wonderful creatures, watching as they caught the treats like pros. The seagulls are another matter… One set of seagulls, I had decided to toss the pieces of my popcorn up into the air to see what would happen. Insanity, that’s what. Still, it was all going well until I didn’t move fast enough. One pelican decided that he didn’t wish to race for his food and snatched the popcorn right from my fingers, taking a little flesh in the bargain… ouch…. another group of pelicans stalked my balcony, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Running in to grab some milk to go with my Danish was apparently the perfect opportunity. lol … I came back out to an empty plate. 😛

Our next vacations, I will be in charge of picking the destination. Problem … where do I want to go? There are so many sights and small town community ways that I would love to see. What would you guys suggest? What vacation spot always makes you smile? (Somewhere other than the beach, at least the ones down south) I love water and alley-like shopping areas… What do you guys love?

Happy Wordage

* Drop them a comment to tip them off after you’ve linked them in the post.
* Post 7 interesting things about yourself.
All about ME:
Let’s start with the seven things about Tracey, that I will try to make interesting to all. Hummmm … where to start. Well since I added that race track photo to the top, why not start off with horse. I love horses. I love to ride them (though it has been years), especially run. To be on top of a horse as he flies across the ground, it feels like you’re the one flying. Everything about the animals speaks of majestic strength, of power. Being on top of one, you get to be included in that power, if only for a little while.

*pics from trip to boyd county fare
Number two on my list … I’m gonna go with cowboys. I blame this on Lorelei James and her rough rider series. lol. Just lover her cowboy romances. Though it could also have something to do with the fact that I am a Kentucky girl. Cowboys and other men that work farms or with animals are just plain sexy. 😛 One day, I plan to write a contemporary/cowboy romance. But for now I will stick to my Fantasy/paranormal romances. I will edit the ba-zillion rough drafts until I want to scream, and then watch out. Here come the Cowboys.

*pinterest pics
For your third viewing pleasure, let’s look at some beach pictures. Although I have been to many different sandy shores, in both the heat and the cold, I am not a beach fan. I love the beautiful views to be found, buuutttt … Sand and Sharks, people. Sand and Sharks. I hate and fear them both. I firmly that sand has a mind of its own, and is more dangerous than the ever hungry shark. As soon as you enter the city holding your chosen beach destination, the sand goes to work. Without getting out of the car, you will start to feel the creeping, abrasive, sneaky sandy hands. Heaven help you if you are brave enough to go swimming. I always come out of the water (ocean or pool) with sand taking up residence inside my bathing suit. With shark, I would just like to eat one of them before they get me. At least them I will kinda deserve it. (at least in the sharks mind) lol

*my sunset/sunrise pics
On to number four … When I need a break from my characters and the worlds that the voices demand I continue to build and expand, I turn to crafts. Mostly, I experiment with oil paints. I enjoy the way you can blend and change the canvas. Plus, even if you use a drying agent, mixed in with your paints, you have at least three days to change your creation. Oils are very forgiving of mistakes. 😛 My other main craft revolves around yarn. Hats, scarves … stuffed animals, baby clothes … I will try anything. Everyone should include some form of arts and/or crafts in their life. Make sure that you use both sides of your brain, not just the fact based side 😛

*keep trying until you find your stress relief
Alrighty! Moving on to interesting fact number five. (I feel like I am on a dating site … lol) Anywho. I would say that my travel history is pretty interesting. I have been to beaches from the west to the east (see fact three). I have been to different Kentucky areas for singing competitions. As a teen I went on one of those Eruo tours, visiting France, London, Germany, Switzerland, etc… I have seen castles and homesteads from the 1800’s, I have gone cliff diving (very little cliff, not to dare devilish), and I have gone deep sea snorkeling. And still there is so much I want to see and do. Seeing and experiencing the world around me is very important to my life. I want to take in as much as I can.

*I need to start taking more pics
Two facts left. For number six, I will go with … Animals. I love them all. In fact, every time I go on a trip, I pick an animal to associate with that adventure. In Switzerland, I chose the mountain goat. I loved taking a tram up into the mountains and seeing them perched so perfectly on the rocky cliff face. At the beach, I usually go with an alligator. Most would probably go with sharks, but when I was small, I saw an alligator snatch a bird for his dinner. I have some charms for a bracelet of a necklace with representations of my vacations animal picks.

*alligator pic came from pinterest (need to get one of my own)
Lastly, but not least … I have MS (multiple sclerosis) but I refuse to stop me from living. I want to be apart of the world, not just sit on the sidelines and watch. I may not move at the same pace as others, or accomplish everything in a timely manner, but eventually get to the places I want to be. I have learned to work with my MS, instead of being smothered by it. When I wake up, I ask myself what I want to accomplish. Then I stop to think, what CAN I accomplish. If I’m having a bad day, I know that whatever I want to do isn’t out of the questions. I just need to wait and see if tomorrow will let me do more. This process has allowed me to become a new person, when I thought all had been lost. I avoid things that hurt my head, and take life one day at a time. I have event finished one novel that I am in the process of talking to a publisher about, and I have half a dozen other rough draft (but dang, the editing process vs my MS and dyslexia … let’s just say time consuming).

Find your Inspiration

Camp-Winner-2015-Web-Banner

Where do you find your Inspiration???

For years, I wrote down my ideas and worked on my outlines and rough drafts, but that was all. I looked down and had dozens of both, but unless I wanted to build another room to house my ideas, I needed to finish this and edit that. It was a moment of ‘omg, where do I start…’ and I didn’t have a clue. Then I saw something on twitter about National Writers Month (#NaNoWriMo). The organization is great. They have the main event in Nov. for #NaNoWriMo, and camp comes in july (#campnanowrimo) … I think there is even a month dedicated to the junior wordmonger.

But what do you need, what do you get out of it, and why should you bother???

hummmm…

34e097e0def14e827f3fc897c230a848e626c31b5813618e05b7e7df0d008bf8ef30185564e2e73f5c48894e89c75059

Hey, this may be camp, but that doesn’t mean you have to go outdoors. I mean, l love nature and all the beautiful landscapes that are available … but … bugs. I said it, bugs. I am too old to fight off bugs, use natures outhouse (or even a camp restroom), and sleep on the hard unforgiving ground.

Even those lovely foldout beds, that can be put into place with the ease of a lawn chair, is a no-go for this Kentucky gal. I want to ride the horses, wade in the stream, take some amazing photos … and then go home. So indoor camp is it for me. Plus, s’mores can be made anywhere. yummmm. A bottle of wine, a bag of goodies, and some upclass camp junk food. Dang, now I’m hungry.

But camp isn’t about the food, or the bedding. It’s about the people. I am still friends with the first two women I met at camp, a Canadian word-lover and an Ohio wordsmith.  We still get on Facebook to chat, trash talk, and when needed … we support each other in our current projects. So the inspiration you can find at CampNaNoWriMo, or one of the similar online get togethers, is something that you can take with you. Something that you can depend on throughout the year, not just the month that you bust your arse to reach that 50k word goal line. Even if you never reach 50k words, the connections and friends are important.

But just because I enjoy my comforts (the bed is sooo not mine), don’t think I miss out on the wildlife… say hello to Froggy Assassin in the picture below …..

e87bce4a8cf25069ce7a437b66c7ac08101_0155

Writing is a solitary event for the most part. But every once in a while it is good to get out of you writer’s cave, take a look around, and stretch your legs. We have to go out in the world in order to keep the ideas and voices flowing. Stroll through the local fruit market, wonder around the towns surrounding chosen vacation spot, or my favorite outdoor activity … stop at a random exit. When I’m coming home from some roadtrip or out of town necessity, I watch the signs that promote the attractions for the upcoming exits. My last trip ended with a stop along the Ky-Tn border. Mom and I stopped for lunch at this little outdoor museum. They had houses from the old days, and lots of animals walking around. The little store had some of the crafts from the area, and the back of the store housed a little deli with homemade goodies. We had some of the best cobbler I have ever tasted, and I’m not normally a cobbler lover.

In essences, inspirations can be found anywhere. Indoors and out, you just need to be open to trying something new. You can tackle the word sprints with your NaNoWriMo camp mates, or soak up the off the beaten path attractions. Just have fun, and then write it down… 😛 … Happy Wordage, Tracey Clark

Here are some of the photos from my off the beaten path stop…

Fun in the sun, or melt in the heat… hmmm

IMG_0637

The world is full of insanity, and road blocks descend on the unsuspecting, at every opportunity, but there is also beauty. Every hardship can provide a moment of fun and laughter, once the smoke clears, even though these moments can be hard to see at first. Or maybe, it just me. The mentally insane have a tendency of seeing things a little differently. ;P

Like having your car die, while going 65 mph, down a three lane highway. Fun? Laughter? Oh… did I mention the 92 degree heat? NO? Well, huh. How about the downpour, coming and going, that didn’t allow us to roll down our windows, in desperation of catching one of the rare muggy breezes? What… didn’t mention that either? My mind must be protecting my sanity, by blocking out the horror, only presenting the humor.

The car was rushing towards our reservations at the dinner theater, Medieval Times. I could feel the moment we started to slow, as the steady hum from the engine disappeared. Doing my best not to freak mom out, I simply said that I needed to get over, before I allowed the car to cruse through traffic toward the side of the highway. Needless to say, I failed. Oh, I managed to get the car into the grass beside an off-ramp, (looked safe to me) but mom didn’t agree. But not to worry, because we had managed to stop right in front of a sign that gave the number for road side assistance.

At this point, life wasn’t looking so humorous. And that was before the rain decided to switch from a sprinkle to the bucket syndrome. I was missing an air-conditioned event of horses, pina coladas, and man candy. As we waited for help and mom called to reschedule our dinner theater, things were looking pretty bleak, but an hour later every thing changed. We had new theater tickets and help had arrived in the form of roadside assistance. Otherwise known as a very polite elderly man that was more than willing to wait with us until a tow truck arrived. He was very sorry, but he didn’t have jumper cables, didn’t know anything about cars, and didn’t have the ability to tow our car. Huh… Roadside assistance??? Provided by the state??? Luckily for this poor man, we found the entire thing hilarious. It was more like roadside babysitting. ;P

Eventually, we managed to get a tow from a company that also worked on Mercedes vehicles. It was quite late at this point, we were starving (hello, we missed theater and dinner), and exhausted. Everyone was extremely kind, they offered to call a cab that had better rates for their customers, and as we were leaving, they even offered us tickets for free admission to the local gentleman’s club (they even promised that there would be male dancers as well). See? Very kind. 🙂 Dollar bills anyone???

Sadly, we declined and headed for our hotel. Mom made sure that the man driving the cab had change for a $50.00 and I raided the car garage’s vending machine, before we left. It was a short trip, no more than $16.00. Made all the more enjoyable by the rice crispy treats and chips, from my junk dispensing friend. When we arrived at our hotel, mom said to keep the change and rushed out of the car. Practically swallowing my tongue, I followed quickly, but not quickly enough. As the car ‘quickly’ left, I managed to reach mom and squeak out, “Wasn’t that a 50?” I crossed my fingers that she had managed to find a $20, but no such luck.

Most of our beach vacation was spent on separate endeavors. Mom did her best to obtain the tan of her dreams, while I sought out cooler holes to relax in. Which mostly meant that I haunted Barns and Noble, as well as BAM, Books A Million. I managed to acquire more than a dozen books while mom fought to pull down as many deadly rays as she could, finally realizing that her tanning lotion contained 15 spf. lol. (Okay, she wasn’t laughing)

Our evenings were all about visiting local family, while hitting every restaurant that we knew (correction, that we swore) we were going to miss, once we returned home and started eating healthy. Booo. Just because I will fell better about myself, both physically and mentally, doesn’t mean that I have to like it. *pouting* Man, the food was good. Especially the food at Medieval Times, not to mention fun. It isn’t every day that grown adults are asked to eat with their hands. 😉

Medieval Time was a blast. We had excellent food, drinks, and entertainment. The horses were beautiful and so talented, doing tricks that I could barely believe. (The actors were talented as well ;P) But when it was over… mom was hurting pretty bad, so while we waited for our taxi that would take us back to our hotel, I found her a place to sit, while I went in to get souvenirs. So mom is sitting there, cig raised out of the way, while she is bent over hunting for something in her purse. This soft spoken, Asian woman comes up, politely taps mom’s shoulder, and says something that mom cant understand. Soooo, not paying any real attention to the woman, she says, “I can’t understand you,” barely moving her gaze, as she continues to look through her purse. (I never did ask what she was looking for) Anywho… the woman’s husband (at least I assume that this man was her husband), through much laughter, manages to get out, “Hair on Fire”… Feel free to laugh. Mom said that the couple, as well as the rest of their small group (I started out telling people that there were a dozen histerically laughing Asians. Now the story is up to about twenty), was nearly in pain from their laughter as they passed her.

This wasn’t mom’s only brush with fire tricks. Living in a world of non-smoking is troublesome for traveling tobacco lovers. We are attempting to quick, but in the mean time, there are balconies and bars. But safety first, everyone. If a lighter has been left out in the sun, for the protection of all involved, do not try to light your cigarette. Mom was lucky that the fire went out so quickly, merely causing her hand to become tender, and that the rest of her hair remained untouched. One impromptu hair cut, per vacation, is all that anyone can afford. She now swears that it was like holding a ball of flames, like her own superpower. 😉

It wasn’t all insanity and horror. We are both insane, finding laughter in the most dire of situations, but we also ate excellent food (for the most part), found shopping bargains, and relaxed. I even managed to accomplish some editing. All in all the beach part of our adventure went rather quickly. Soon we were ready to trade in the sand for dragons.

The night before we left for Atlanta, and DragonCon, there was a dragonfly on our balcony (eight floors up) and the little guy followed us into our hotel room. It was almost impossible, but I finally managed to get him back outside. When we arrived at the Con, we stopped to watch as a man was helped into his dragon costume. It looked amazing, but man, I bet he was hot. Even the rooms were hot.

I had a blast watching the interesting costumes, sitting in on panels of my favorite authors, and going to writing seminars. Hello… I managed to see both Laurell K Hamilton and Jim Butcher, twice. They were hilarious and my day was made. I did have a few embarrassing MS moments, like the time I was sitting in the front row of a panel containing Laurell K Hamilton, and the heat and the lack of sleep caused my eyes to become heavy. Yep. I was fighting sleep, in front of my favorite author. I just know that I looked drugged or rude, or both. Who sits in the front row, if they plan on napping? I would have gotten up, but that would have called even more attention to myself. What was I to do? Sit through the embarrassment, then go to another panel with her on it, but for heaven’s sake… take coffee and sit anywhere but the first row.

This post is becoming a bit lengthy, sooooo… I will leave off the rest of our DragonCon adventure for the next post (that way the rest of you will be able to stay awake), saying only that next time, I am either going to a smaller convention or bringing my Taser. There were over 65,000 people – and those were the ones with tickets, not the ones sneaking in – at DragonCon, and while most were fun loving and polite, there were a few jerks. But that rant is for next time.

Happy writing everyone. ;P
